Great location for coastal walking, with excellent cliff walks in both directions
Quaint and homely cottage with a beautiful seaside theme in the rooms. Close proximity to local shops, pubs, and interesting places to visit
Bedroom ceiling and skylight blinds could be improved for a more comfortable sleep. Low seats in the lounge were difficult to get out of and not very comfortable

The village itself was the perfect getaway for some much-needed relaxation. The coastal walks in both directions were breathtaking, whether it was heading towards Whitby or Saltburn. The cottage itself was clean, neat, and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The kitchen and dining area were well-equipped, and the lounge and bedroom were cozy and inviting. Despite a few minor drawbacks like the low bedroom ceiling and the skylight blinds letting in light at dawn, these were easily manageable with a pair of eyeshades. I highly recommend The Old Cottage for a peaceful and rejuvenating escape.

The location of the accommodation is great, with excellent cliff walks to nearby towns. the cottage is clean, neat, and well-decorated with stylish decor. It offers a good kitchen/diner and a warm, clean room. the cottage also has charming art pieces and plenty of cushions and knick knacks.
Loading and unloading down the passage can be difficult, and unfortunately, there is no view from the cottage, only a wall.

My recent stay at The Old Cottage in Staithes was a delightful experience. The cottage itself was clean and beautifully decorated, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The seaside theme in the rooms added a charming touch. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, providing a great night's sleep. The location of the cottage was perfect, with plenty of places to eat and shops nearby. We also took the opportunity to explore the surrounding area, which offered numerous attractions and places to visit. We particularly enjoyed sea fishing during one of the days. The local museum was also very interesting. The kitchen was well-equipped, and the quirky art pieces, cushions, and knick knacks added a unique character to the cottage. Despite a few minor drawbacks such as sloping ceilings in the bedroom and low seats in the lounge, our overall experience was fantastic. Loading and unloading down a passage was a bit difficult, and there was no view, just a wall. The access was a bit dark even with lights, and the fridge was a bit awkward. The cottage had three floors, which was a bit much at times, and it was on the expensive side for just two guests. However, these were minor inconveniences considering the overall positive experience. I would definitely recommend The Old Cottage to anyone looking for a lovely and comfortable stay in Staithes.
